To celebrate the opening of Perth Museum, and Perth Theatre's production of Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut, Perth Theatre is raising a glass to all that is great about food and drink in Perthshire!
A selection of local suppliers including Allan’s Chilli Products, Pentone Family, Perth Gin, Simply Flo Lebanese cuisine, Val’s Scottish Tablet Treats, Enriched Being Microgreens and Cloverlea Apiaries will offer tastings and tempting treats to audiences and passers-by in A Flavour of Perthshire in Perth Theatre Café from 10:00 until 16:00 on Saturday 30 March in a free drop-in event which will also feature live piano music.
Perth Theatre is also working with Perth Food Tours to offer discounted tours leaving from Perth Theatre Café at 13:00 on Saturday 30 March. Join fellow foodies on a three-hour walking (and eating!) tour of Perth City Centre, sharing local history and fun facts while stopping at specially selected venues for a taste of Scotland. All the recipes are authentic passed down the generation from my grand-ma to my mum to me. The food is freshly made (shelf-life of 3-7 days) and sourced mostly locally – our vegetables are from an organic farm near Dunkeld, and from various suppliers in Perth, Stirling, Falkirk, Glasgow. From the mouthwatering baba ghanouj to hommous, from bameyeh to zaatar mana'eesh, tabouleh, moussaka, spinach pies, falafel, tabouleh and warak enab. From mezze (a selection platter of dishes) Our cuisine also includes vegetarian and vegan desserts from ma'amoul, halawa, to very unique and versatile desserts such as debs bil taheeneh (carob molasses and tahini) – this is a traditional spread (Lebanese and passed down from our parents version of chocolate spread). We also make our own pantry products (such as zaatar, sumac, pomegranate molasses, olives with zaatar). All our food is prepared fresh for each market by Florence, and depending on seasonality and availability of ingredients we have additional items (eg. Easter (Maamoul), Summer (Fattouch).

Cloverlea Apiaries - The Friendly Bee Company
Cloverlea Apiaries ‘The Friendly Bee Company’ is a family run bee farm nestled in the Ochil Hills. As honey bee farmers, the health and welfare of our honey bees as well as other wild pollinators is of the upmost importance to us, enabling them to make the very best Scottish Honey. Direct from our honey bee farm we produce Local Scottish Honey, blossom, heather and infused honey’s, as well as honey mustards.
To ensure we use everything the bees produce, we hand-make bees wax candles using a variety of methods including moulded, tinned and glass jars. We only use ethically sourced essential oils and fragrances to complement our beeswax candles.
To celebrate the benefits of honey and beeswax we have also developed a full skin care range ‘Bee Natural Skin Care’ which is fully safety assessed, and includes face creams, body scrubs and foot scrubs and creams.
All our products complies to all legislation for sale to the public.
All our packaging is made from recycled materials and can be recycled again once used.
